THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Antonelli Institute admits students of any race, creed, color, national origin, sex or disability. The Institute is in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Although the Institute does not have a formal closing date for applications, and qualified students are accepted at any time prior to the first day of class, students are encouraged to apply early. We strongly urge prospective students and members of their families to visit the campus.
The basic requirement for admission is to be a high school graduate or to hold a G.E.D. Applicants may request an individual evaluation, including a digital portfolio review, please send a CD-ROM with samples of your work or bring a CD-ROM to your evaluation interview. Your digital portfolio will be reviewed by one of our faculty members.
HOW TO APPLY
All first year applicants need to accomplish the following:
- Write or phone the admissions office for an application form, interview appointment or additional specific information. Application may also be submitted on line at www.antonelli.edu
- Complete the Application for Admission form and return it, along with a check or money order for $25.00. (See application procedure on the application form) to the Admissions Office.
- Although not a requirement, the Institute prefers that a prospective student bring a portfolio of work to the scheduled interview. The portfolio should consist of at least four pieces. It is not necessary that the work be framed or matted. Sketchbooks and work done outside formal classes are encouraged. All work will be returned.
- Upon approval of the Director, an applicant will be sent a letter advising the student of their acceptance status. If accepted, an Enrollment Agreement will be sent to the applicant. Acceptance is conditional upon receipt of an official high school diploma, G.E.D., or final official high school transcript displaying the date of graduation.
- Upon acceptance, students and their families should schedule an appointment with the Financial Aid Office to determine any eligibility.
The Institute reserves the right to deny admission to any candidate it considers inadequately qualified to undertake Antonelli’s program of study.
EVALUATION FOR CREDIT OF PREVIOUS TRAINING
A student who has previously enrolled in another post secondary institution or who has attended an academic program with which Antonelli Institute has an articulation agreement may be eligible to receive advanced credit. A credit is a unit of measure and not necessarily an indicator of transferability of credit. The receiving institution, rather than the training institution, decides whether to accept credits for transfer. Students seeking the transfer of credit should notify the Admissions Office of their intent. Credits earned at other recognized institutions may be granted at the discretion of the President or Director of Education. Students applying for the transfer of credit are responsible for providing an official transcript of grades and a copy of the school catalog listing the course descriptions.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Antonelli Institute welcomes applications from international students. International students must meet the same admission requirements as U.S. first year or transfer students. International students whose native language is not English must submit the results of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A TOEFL test score of 480 or higher is required for admission in order to ensure a student’s ability to successfully participate in the Antonelli curriculum. Antonelli Institute’s TOEFL number – 9898 should be entered as required by the testing service.
Financial Aid is not available to foreign students. An I-20 form will be provided only after the student has been accepted and has submitted the required tuition deposit signifying intent to enroll.
PART-TIME STUDENTS
Part-time students must apply for admission in the same manner as full-time students, as described earlier in this section, and are subject to the same admission policies. Part-time students enrolled in degree programs may be eligible for financial aid. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for further information.
Students who are interested in taking course work on a part-time basis and who are not, at this time, interested in working toward a degree are welcome to contact the Admissions Office in order to register for individual classes. Such students are not eligible for financial aid.
The cost of tuition for part-time students is at the per credit rate as stated in the Catalog Tuition Supplement.
